
Next we drove to Concord, NH which is the state's capital. Our first stop was the Old North Cemetery where Franklin Pierce, his wife Jane Means Appleton and two of his three children- Frank who died at 4 years and Benjamin who died at 11 years -are buried.
Their first son Franklin, Jr. died at 3 days of age.In Concord we also saw the Pierce Manse where he lived from 1842 to 1848.

After a nice lunch at the Olive Garden and a shopping stop at Wal Mart and Camping World we returned to Rumney, NH still in the pouring rain.
